Remote updates

Remote firmware updates (OTA) for devices already in your customers' hands.

Fix bugs and add features to devices already in your customers' hands — no recalls, no site visits. Updates are secure, go out to a few devices first, and are undone automatically if something goes wrong. We run the whole system for you.

Every product eventually needs a change after launch: a bug fix, a security patch, a new feature a customer asked for. Without remote updates, each change means a recall or a technician visit.

We add update support to the device's software and run the system that delivers the updates. Devices accept only genuine software from you, updates reach a small group first and then everyone, and a device that fails after an update returns to the previous version on its own.

Combined with device monitoring, you can see how each update performs across all your devices.

How it works

From the first call to the result.

  1. Device support

Update support is built into the device's software.

  2. Update system

We set up the system that delivers updates and run it for you.

  3. Step-by-step rollout

Each update goes to a few devices first, then to all.

  4. Automatic undo

If an update fails, the device returns to the previous version.

FAQ

Common questions

Can updates be added to devices already sold?

Often, yes — if the device can connect and has enough memory. We check your hardware first and tell you what is possible.

What happens if an update fails?

The device returns to the previous working version automatically, and the rollout is stopped before it reaches other devices.

Do we need our own servers?

No. We run and maintain the update system for you.
